With around 30,000 people employed (freelancers and full employee), the insurance broker and financial adviser sector is about the same size as the automotive industry, the construction industry, and has approximately the same numbers of workers as the painting and decorating industry in Austria.

The decentralised structure of the sector means our member companies make a valuable contribution to the securing jobs and generating wealth within the regions.

Austria’s insurance brokers and financial advisers are also the biggest trainers of apprentices in the country. They provide the opportunity to gain qualifications and employment to 1,075 young people.
